Creating your first Maple project

To make programming process efficient, any work needs to take place in a project. A project is a collection of folders and files (often called resources). In this section, you will create a new Maple Project.

Creating the project

You can create new resources by using the File > New menu on the Studio menu bar. Here you can start by creating a Maple Project as follows:

  1. From the menu bar, select File > New > Project... to open the New Project wizard.
  2. In the New Project wizard, select Maple > Maple Project, then click Next to start the New Maple Project wizard:

  3. In the Project name field, type the name of your new project. Do not use spaces or special characters in the project name (e.g., "Test").

  4. Click Finish when you are done.

If you look at the Package Explorer view, you will see that it now contains the Maple Project you just created. You open or close the project by clicking the tree icon. The project contains some folders and files. In the next section you will see how to work with Maple files.
